It's hard to rate a service until you need to use it. However knowing you have coverage is a good piece of mind, and one less thing you have to worry about. I recommend everyone carry a policy while on a cruise.

Few days before our cruise my family member was hospitalized and we had to cancel the entire cruise. Nationwide refunded all the money and it wasn't a hassle to do it. Thank you.

Thank you for your review. The policy you purchased does offer Trip
Delay coverage, but it is a Secondary benefit. Secondary coverage will pay you after any other Primary collectible insurance has paid the claim and the Primary policies' limits have been exhausted. Most of the plans offered on InsureMyTrip will have Trip Delay as a secondary benefit, and this will be shown on the comparison page and confirmation email. We thankfully did not need to use the coverage. Having elderly parents and going through the loss of one right before another trip it was security for us. The price was better than what our travel agent offered, the process easy, online chat was helpful and we had a great vacation.

After comparing several plans, this one was the lowest cost for the essential coverage I needed for my family on a cruise from NYC to Bermuda. That coverage include emergency evacuation (from the ship at sea, if necessary) and emergency medical (while in a foreign port). Although the likelihood of using such coverage is slim, it is always best to error on the side of caution. Since I did not need to file any claims I cannot rate that aspect of the policy, but can say that the price was right for what coverage I wanted.

I had no claim to make, and therefore, have no comments. Although I have good health care insurance, I always buy travel insurance. If you need it, you need it. For example: I was on a trans-Atlantic cruise that left from Tampa FL. Apparently the airline on which about 30 people flew screwed up and they didn't get their luggage before boarding the ship. Their travel insurance provider(s) shipped their luggage to our first port stop in Bermuda, which was 4 days later. The people were also reimbursed by the insurance companies (I don't know if this company was one of the providers) to buy some clothes before leaving Tampa so they'd have something to wear until we docked in Bermuda.

Much, much too expensive! Outrageous! Not easy to use and discourages use. My wife was seriously ill and hospitalized for 6 days just prior to the trip but filing a claim would have been substantially difficult and burdensome, so, she summoned up what strength she had and we went on the cruise. She was in pain, and uncomfortable throughout the trip and she did not get off the cruse ship until we reached our home port.

The policy that you purchased does cover the following if you had to cancel or interrupt your trip.
"(a) Sickness, Accidental Injury or death of You, a Traveling Companion, or Family Member which results in medically
imposed restrictions as certified by a Physician at the time of Loss preventing Your participation in the Trip. A Physician
must advise cancellation of the Trip on or before the Scheduled Departure Date;"
