You know, I keep buying the Nationwide Luxury Cruise pkg and have yet to file a claim. I really can't say how they respond to a claim. I will continue to cruise and continue to insure my trips anyway because it is the most comprehensive and balanced coverage.

Even thought I did not make any claims my attempts to contact your company to find out how to utilize the doctor on the ship were painful at best. Your phone numbers did not work and when I finally got through it was 30 minutes of Spanish Inquisition just to get another number to call. does not really make me enthusiastic about doing this again.

I purchased coverage for both my husband and me. However, he didn't take the trip. I wrote asking for proration of my coverage but you would not refund me any portion of his plan. I was very upset and disappointed with your responses to my request and don't know if I'd use you again.

    Thank you for your comments. Since you purchased the plan back on 11/16/2017, your 5/23/2018 request for a refund for your husband who decided not to travel was denied since the cancellation request was outside the 10 Day Review Period:

    "All premium is non-refundable after a ten (10) day review period from the date of purchase in the event You have not incurred any claims during that time. In the event the premium paid for coverage is less than the required premium for coverage, benefits will be paid in direct proportion of the actual amount paid to the required premium due."

    Since your husband was insured under this Nationwide policy from 11/17/2017 up until the day he decided to cancel, his premium was considered earned and nonrefundable.

The cruise line offered an insurance plan with the broadest coverage available, however, the additional cost was not justified to me. This is the first time in almost 10+ cruises I ever purchased insurance and was very satisfied with the piece of mind it provided.

While we didn't need to file a claim this trip, we did on a past cruise when a port was cancelled just prior to leaving. Filing a claim was simple, and we were reimbursed by the time the trip concluded. Thus I specifically looked for this luxury cruise insurance again on this trip.

When there was so much on the news about hurricanes at the time we would be flying, we were a little concerned about whether we would be able to go but were not concerned we would take a financial hit. The weather cooperated, our first European trip was wonderful, and we were glad nothing happened to make us file a claim.

I had to submit my claim a few times for the processor to understand that we really were delayed almost 12 hours en-route and that our luggage arrived about 17 hours after we did. It was settled, but the proof required was sent in twice to prove that we indeed were delayed 12 hours and not 6 minutes as the processor claimed.
