Options include a medical limit up to $5,000,000, a variable deductible, and hazardous activity coverage. This plan does have a pre-existing condition lookback period of 3 years.

This plan cost half as much as other plans I researched. Even with additional options I chose it was less costly than other plans I researched online, I felt that the price was more than fair. I was covered with everything I would have needed on an international trip.

Thank goodness I never had to use this plan on my trip to Mexico. However, it did give me peace of mind. I have heard stories of people who have been injured and then held ransom financially by Mexican hospitals until the U.S. patient paid their huge fees in full. This plan provided all of the coverage I needed to protect my young family of 5. Having been on trips where travelers in my group ended up in the hospital in a foreign country, I know first hand the financial burden these types of experiences can cause. I will never leave the U.S. without some medical travel insurance again. I recommend this product. Good coverage at a good price.

To put things in perspective: I had to see a doctor due to an ear infection on a recent trip to Mexico, and ended up with an approximately $300 bill for exam and prescription drugs - so, relatively minor, but an expense I was hoping I wouldn't have to swallow seeing that I had purchased travel health insurance, and I didn't.
Claim processing time was much longer than the "general servicing time of up to two weeks" as stated; however, having submitted a complete claim with all requested documentation the process was smooth and I received a check after ~6 wks for the full amount without additional back and forth.
One thing to note is that policies are only applicable to 'families' and my fiance and I had to purchase separate policies, which seems a bit over bureaucratic.
