It is difficult to rate travel insurance as good or bad if you are fortunate enough to never have to file a claim. My trip went very smoothly. A friend gave me a list of possible travel insurance plans to look at which included the Travelex plan I purchased. I will include Travelex in the search for insurance for my next trip.

Didn't have to use the plan - thank goodness. But we came close - We were having dinner on a patio (in South Africa) when our daughter felt a something move against her shoe. She looked down and saw a 5 foot snake slithering over her foot. It was a Puff Ader Viper - the snake that causes the most deaths in Africa.

Travel Select
Travelex did cover a large amount of our claim and were responsive to requests for clarification. That said, the process was very cumbersome. We filled out pages and pages of paperwork to process the claim, which took months, and then they mailed us a check with no explanation. The process was certainly not easy, nor simple, after experiencing an incredible trauma on vacation.

However, we are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with the claims process. Typically, Travelex claims department has a reputation for being fair and prompt. In the future, please reach out to InsureMyTrip and request a customer advocate. Since I didn't have to use the plan, I can't say anything about the Travelex Travel Select plan. I'm assuming the product would have come to the rescue if a claim was necessary. However, that is all hypothetical. I'll continue to use your service until I have a reason to go elsewhere.
