The value seemed good for how many people we insured. It is most important to purchase the insurance as soon as possible due to the pre-existing condition clause. I purchased too late to cover my husbands illness that was diagnosed a month after my first payment for my cruise.

The TravelSafe Classic Plan provided excellent peace of mind for myself and the 7 other members of my family. We traveled to Barcelona for 3 days, boarded a ship to Rome for 7 days, and 3 days in Rome. With 4 children from ages 7 to 13 it was comforting to know we were insured for most situations. I highly recommend this company and this policy.

Had to cancel our trip last minute, and filed a claim to cover lost deposits and non-refundable things. Other than the fact that the plan only covers a single airline award redeposit fee up to $150 (which was much less than ours ended up being), everything in the claim was paid promptly, and with no fuss. I will be purchasing from this company again when we plan our do-over trip.

Fortunately, I did not have a need for this plan on my trip. A friend, also on this trip did not have insurance and required treatment on board ship. The result was a $1200 medical bill.

It's really hard to write a review for an insurance policy that, thankfully, I didn't need to use. I guess I paid a reasonable price. I hope the coverage would have been sufficient. If I needed travel insurance again, I would use the company and policy that seemed to best fit my needs, and the one that would be most cost effective.

You can purchase most comprehensive policies up until the day before departure. However, the best time to purchase travel insurance is right after you put money down towards your trip. Most comprehensive policies include time sensitive benefits which are but not limited to pre-existing condition waiver, financial default, terrorism, Cancel For Any Reason and Cancel For Work Reasons. Most plans require that you purchase a policy within 10 - 30 days of your initial trip payment, and insure all prepaid non refundable trip costs to receive these time sensitive benefits.
