Crum & Forster – Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector

The Crum & Forster – Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector is a comprehensive trip cost protection plan with increased coverage limits and flexibility, available for residents of specific states only. If you are looking for a plan that gives you standard benefits as well as a little extra cushion, and you live in a specific state, this plan may be a good fit for you and your family.

Of special note for families, children are covered at no additional cost! If you are traveling with children age 17 or younger they can be included at no extra cost when at least one adult is also covered on the plan.

The trip interruption benefit allows for 150% reimbursement of the insured pre-paid, non-refundable trip cost if the trip is cut short due to a covered reason. This can help to reimburse for unused trip costs as well as cover additional costs necessary to get you and your family home.

This plan also includes missed connection and itinerary change benefit. This benefit will help to reimburse covered costs that you may incur if you miss your cruise or tour due to a covered trip delay reason.

This plan features two time-sensitive benefits that are included when you purchase the plan within 21 days following your initial trip payment and all eligibility requirements are met. These two benefits are a pre-existing condition waiver and financial default coverage. The pre-existing condition waiver can allow emergency medical coverage for an injury or illness related to prior medical history. Financial default coverage can help to reimburse for any losses due to a travel supplier filing for financial default and stopping services.

Optional benefits are available for this plan as well (options vary by state). These optional benefits help provide additional coverage to help protect you and your travel investment.

Nationwide Prime

Nationwide Travel Insurance Logo

Nationwide Prime

The Nationwide Prime plan allows you to insure a higher trip cost than the Essential plan, and also includes higher amounts of coverage for post departure benefits such as medical and emergency medical evacuation.

This comprehensive travel insurance plan includes standard benefits, and some additional options to really tailor your insurance for your trip. The plan allows coverage for trips costing up to $30,000 per person, and provides reimbursement if a cancellation occurs due to a covered reason. Optional Cancel for Any Reason is also available in most states if all eligibility requirements are met.

The trip interruption coverage is available if you need to end your trip early due to a covered reason, and offers reimbursement up to 200% of the trip cost which can help to defray the cost of a one-way ticket home. The plan also includes coverages for baggage protection and travel delay.

This plan also offers coverage for a missed connection. If you face a delay due to a covered reason of three or more hours that causes you to miss your cruise departure, this plans reimburses up to $500 to help you rejoin the cruise and for additional meal or accommodation expenses you incur. Similarly, it also offers coverage for itinerary changes by your cruise line or tour supplier. The benefit reimburses up to $500 in the event a cruise/tour supplier makes a change to your itinerary which prevents you from participating in an activity that you had pre-paid for.

Medical and emergency medical evacuation coverage is available with this plan. This can help if you need to seek medical attention for a covered unexpected illness or injury that occurs during your trip. Also, emergency medical evacuation benefits are available if you are hospitalized and the attending physician recommends that you be transported to the nearest, better equipped hospital.

If you are worried about a pre-existing condition limiting your coverage, the earlier you purchase the plan the better. If the plan is purchased within 21 days of your initial trip payment (and all other eligibility requirements are met), then the pre-existing condition exclusion can be waived.

Nationwide Essential

Nationwide Travel Insurance Logo

Nationwide Essential

The Nationwide Essential plan is a good option if you are planning a trip on a budget, but don’t want to sacrifice coverage.

With coverages like trip cancellation, trip interruption and baggage protection, this plan includes the standard comprehensive travel insurance coverages. It also features some additional options. You can add the optional coverages for rental car collision if you are planning on using a rental car during your trip. Be sure to call your rental car company to verify if they will honor this coverage.

If you purchase the plan within 10 days of your initial trip payment; insure the full pre-paid, non-refundable cost of the trip; and meet all the eligibility requirements you could qualify for additional time sensitive benefits, such as financial default coverage and the pre-existing conditions exclusions waiver.

This plan also includes medical coverage for unexpected medical and dental emergencies. If you qualify for the pre-existing conditions exclusions waiver, you could receive treatment for illness or injury associated with that pre-existing condition, regardless of the lookback period. The plan also includes emergency medical evacuation if the attending physician recommends that your condition warrants transportation to another medical facility.

Nationwide Luxury Cruise

Nationwide Travel Insurance Logo

Nationwide Luxury Cruise

The Nationwide Luxury Cruise plan is available to those who will be traveling on a cruise during their trip. It offers the highest benefit amounts of the three Nationwide Cruise plans. This plan is available for those who may be going on longer, more expensive cruises, as it allows for a maximum trip cost of up to $50,000 per person with a trip length up to 120 days.

The Luxury Cruise plan includes important coverage such as trip cancellation and trip interruption, if you need to cancel prior to departure or interrupt after departure for a covered reason. Other comprehensive travel insurance benefits include baggage protection, travel delay, missed connection, medical, emergency medical evacuation and non-medical evacuation coverage to list a few.

This plan offers optional Cancel for Any Reason coverage for residents of most states that meet all eligibility requirements. This will reimburse up to 75% of your pre-paid, non-refundable trip costs if you have to cancel your trip for something other than a covered reason. With Cancel for Any Reason, cancellation must no later than two days prior to departure. The benefit will allow you to recoup a percentage of the money you originally paid for your cruise.

Unlike the Universal Cruise plan, but similar to the Choice Cruise plan, this plan includes a pre-existing conditions exclusions waiver. This will reimburse for covered medical care needed due to a pre-existing condition, if the plan is purchased within 14 days of initial trip payment and all other requirements are met.

A trip can be planned on a whim or it could be something that has been saved for and dreamed about for a long time. Even with the best planning, a medical issue or a travel delay may arise, and this coverage and assistance services can help you in your time of need.

John Hancock Insurance Agency, Inc. Gold

John Hancock Insurance Agency, Inc. Gold

The John Hancock Gold plan offers the highest coverage limits of the three plans provided by John Hancock Insurance Agency on InsureMyTrip. The plan includes many of the standard coverages included in comprehensive travel insurance plans, as well as other helpful benefits and optional upgrades to make the plan meet your needs.

In the Gold plan, you’ll find the standard benefits to protect your travel investment. Trip cancellation, trip interruption, travel delay, baggage protection, emergency medical and emergency medical evacuation are all coverage offered by this plan.

The Gold plan also offers coverage for missed connection. For instance, if you miss your cruise, due to a covered reason (like a weather-related flight delay), this plan offers a benenfit to help with the cost of getting you to the next port of call to meet your cruise.

Like the Bronze and Silver plans, the Gold plan does provide coverage for pre-existing conditions – if you are eligible. In the event that you have to make a claim due to a covered medical reason, the pre-existing condition exclusion may be waived if the plan is purchased within 14 days after making the initial trip deposit (and all other eligibility requirements are met).

This plan also lists several additional benefits available for purchase. If needed, you can add on rental car collision coverage as well as an additional rider that would allow you to cancel for any reason. If you add rental car coverage, be sure to check with your rental car company to see if they will honor the coverage. If you meet the eligibility requirements of Cancel For Any Reason Rider and you purchase this optional coverage, you would have the choice to cancel for reasons outside of the covered Unforeseen Events up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled departure date and receive up to 75% of your pre-paid and non-refundable trip cost. The additional John Hancock Gold plan Cancel For Any Reason coverage is not available in all states.
