We would be happy to provide you with an explanation of the pre-existing conditions exclusion. For your particular policy there are three requirements for a pre-existing conditions waiver:

    a) the Policy is purchased within 14 days of Your initial Trip deposit; b) the booking for the
    Covered Trip must be the first and only booking for this travel period and destination; and c) You are not disabled from travel at
    the time You pay the premium

International Medical Group Patriot International
Would not cover prior conditions unless bought when trip was paid for.

    Thank you very much for your 3 star rating. However, the International Medical Group Patriot International plan is a Travel Medical Plan that does not offer coverage for preexisting medical conditions regardless of the initial trip payment date. We recommend calling customer care at InsureMyTrip at (800) 487-4722 for a Comprehensive quote within 10 days of your initial trip payment date if you wish to purchase a policy that offers the preexisting medical condition waiver.

Did not need to use the insurance plan, fortunately. Would not travel without the comfort, and security, of an appropriate policy.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Gold
The cost vs. benefits of the plan were satisfactory. We fortunately did not have to file a claim so thus, can't truely review the performance of this product.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
On our annual vacation in Ireland, missed connection, Jetblue 2 hours late, to Boston. Unexpected night in Sheraton Four Points.Logan Airport. Jetblue argued we'd been notified of such prospects, giving no alternatives and declined responsibility. With some substantiation, hotel and booking receipts by email, representative confirms AIG will cover the 'unplanned expense'.
I am comforted that, with age the need to buy insurance, will be covered when needed.

Travelex Travel Select
Being on Medicare, my health coverage is no longer available outside the country. My credit card company provides a complete trip cancellation/ interruption plan for free when paying for the trip with their card. But medical insurance is not included. . InsureMyTrip beautifully filled the gap and provided peace of mind for a nominal price.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
The Plan was OK but would not recommend AXA. We filed a claim and it took over 4 months to complete. This is much too long. The Claims Adjuster misinterpreted a particular piece of information and we had to file additional info (which we did). This delayed the whole process. Also, since we also filed a flight claim, AXA said there were issues because we could potentially utilize the flight credit up to a year's time. However, we finally worked this out but it took a lot of my time. Also, on at least 2 occasions, I had faxed or e-mailed information to AXA but in follow-up they said they never received. This whole process entailed a lot of time on my part.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
Luckily I did not have to use any part of this plan but the peace of mind having it for the price I paid was well worth it at 74 years old you never know when you may have to. It was the least expensive plan I found with the same if not more coverage then the others I researched.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
I have a suggestion. You should have a loyalty program. For example Every 3 insurance covers, you can get a rebate of a few dollars (provided that there has no claims made)
