Single Trip
Since we didn't have to use the plan, I can't review how helpful it was. But I did think the price was reasonable, the service was great, and it seemed very professional. Just knowing that we had this evacuation only plan was comforting, as we were climbing over rocky terrain (big boulders) and one misstep could result in a bad ankle or shoulder, or worse. We were in the Galapagos, where rescue operations could be very costly, and I would recommend some kind of plan for anyone traveling there. But, as I said .... we never had to use it, and that's where the proof of the pudding lies.

Since I fortunately didn't have to use it, it would be difficult to assess it.
The input of people who actually had to use it would be much more factual and valuable.

MedEvac Annual Plan
The evac policy which I purchased from you and which expired provided that evacuation would be done at MY request. This year due to our age we were told we could only purchase a policy which provides for evacuation at the request of the attending physician. A BIG NOT GOOD CHANGE. I wish the old form was available.

We will use your service for future trips. We are glad that we didn't need the coverage but realize that NOT having it would have been bad if a medical emergency came up on our cruise.
Your communication before the trip was appreciated. It told me that there were real people behind the coverage and I could always look up the email message if I lost my paper copies during the trip.

For older world travelers, this is a perfect plan because it includes $50,000 emergency medical coverage as well as evacuation back home. Lets face it, any injury or illness on vacation IS an emergency.
In addition, this plan was cheaper through InsureMyTrip than directly with the insurer!

We actually had a medical evacuation from our cruise ship mid-ocean off the coast of France during our most recent vacation. I can only imagine how much this costs, and my wife asked if the insurance I bought would cover it. It is exactly why I purchased the coverage, and a great example of "you never know". Thanks
