Although, I didn't have to use any coverage for our family trip to Italy and Switzerland, it was very re-assuring to know that I had excellent health coverage while I was on vacation. Plus, the price was very affordable. I will always use InsureMyTrip when I travel to any foreign country or cruise.

Voyager Choice
There was a woman in our tour group who did unexpectedly take ill and had to be hospitalized. I don't know if she was insured for her trip, but it certainly brought me peace of mind to know that if something like that had happened to me I wouldn't be burdened by lack of coverage. The reality is, we don't plan to get ill, have our luggage lost, etc. but it can happen and when it does it can be inconvenient and expensive to resolve when you are overseas. Why take the risk when coverage is so affordable?

We were delayed by the airline and missed our overnight accommodation at a 5-star hotel. I was surprised that the hotel would not refund our stay and the trip insurance did not cover it. Lesson learned on our part, and would have to be more careful in the future.

We fortunately did not need to file a claim, but I selected this policy over others because it seemed to have good coverage and looked easier to make a claim if anything happened. Some of the other policies I looked at listed higher limits, but after I read their policies there were limitations and red tape involved (pre-authorizations etc.) so I figured it would be difficult to get them to pay anything. I chose this one because it sounded pretty straightforward and seemed less difficult for a claim to qualify for reimbursement.

I am glad that I did not have to use the insurance. I just wanted to have medical coverage while out of the USA because medicare does not cover foreign costs.
