However, the International Medical Group Patriot International plan is a Travel Medical Plan that does not offer coverage for preexisting medical conditions regardless of the initial trip payment date. We recommend calling customer care at InsureMyTrip at (800) 487-4722 for a Comprehensive quote within 10 days of your initial trip payment date if you wish to purchase a policy that offers the preexisting medical condition waiver.Apr 28,2017

I've had Travel Guard health insurance on all my trips overseas since retiring. While I haven't had to file a claim, it's a comfort to know that I'm covered in foreign countries where my normal health insurance would be insufficient.

many others in my group trip paid as much as $500 for basically the same coverage. I think main difference is that I don't want "cancel for any reason" and I'm totally comfortable with it.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Cancel for Any Reason can really come in very useful, for issues that are not covered under the policy. However I certainly agree that most reasons applicable to a cancellation, are applicable.

Not needing to use the plan is the best option. However, if I needed it I thought the coverage was good and would suite my needs. I like being able to just purchase medical when out of the country. One time when I was out of the country I had to use a credit card on the spot for treatment so I was happy to purchase this plan.

Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
We didn't need to use the insurance, so no issues. I primarily had it for the evacuation protection, again which we didn't need to use. For the cost, this plan provides a good back stop; realizing that while traveling, you're on your own and all eventualities will come directly "out of pocket". When you are safely home and have filed claims with any other insurance coverage you may have, this plan will activate to backstop any uncovered expenses, to the limits of the policy you select. How well it would work I can't say, since I couldn't find anyone who actually filed a claim, but it was a cost effective back up, offered by a well rated company. Cheers

We did not have to use the plan but I felt so much better knowing we had it as we were gone for 21 days. I felt the price for the peace of mind was well worth it as I have heard actual horror stories of people not having coverage internationally and having to pay huge amounts of money out of pocket.
