The Travel Guard MedEvac Plan from AIG Travel covers single trips up to 365 days in length and offers coverage such as Emergency Medical Evacuation, Medical, Security Evacuation, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment. This plan offers optional coverage upgrades for baggage and certain activities such as mountaineering, aviation, hang gliding, skydiving, parachuting and bungee jumping.

Fortunately we did not experience any problems on our trip, medical or otherwise. On a trip to Europe in April, 2012 we had to file a claim that was processed quickly with no problems. We highly recommend Travel Guard.

Thankfully, I did not have to use the plan. Since I was in Africa where medical facilities are far below western standards, I wanted to be able to have a MedEvac plan to get to the closest first world facility. I felt comfort in having this coverage. I am not reviewing coverage because I simply do not know..

This appeared to be an excellent plan for my trekking trip and at a great value. Fortunately, I did not need to use it so can't attest to how it would have gone. But the help from insure my trip folks and the clarity of their communications on the phone and via email was outstanding.

Although a medical evacuation plan was required for my travels to Mongolia, I was very glad that I found Travel Guard. Travel Guard was inexpensive, but very reassuring that it would cover any medical evacuation if I needed it. Since Mongolia is land-locked and quite remote, and I was uncertain about their medical provisions, having Travel Guard made for a more enjoyable adventure.

We purchased the plan based on a suggestion from a travel article in the Washington Post. I Googled travel medical insurance plans, and the Travel Guard Medevac plan was the least expensive while offering the same benefits. Fortunately, we didn't have to use it, but it was a comfort to know we had it in case we needed it.

My trip went well so my insurance was not brought into play. I had made my companions aware of my plan, however, and that, in the event I had an accident, I had the assurance my needs would be met.

It was reasonably priced and easy to get on line. However, I didn't need to use it. It also seemed to cover a lot.
I just needed the evacuation insurance as my medical insurance covered the hospital and medical care.
