Just like the AXA Assistance USA Gold plan, the Platinum plan provides additional Travel Delay benefits along with coverage if your golf or ski trip is disrupted due to Inclement Weather. Another added benefit is coverage for Sports Equipment Rental coverage.

Since I had canceled my trip for 2019, and rescheduled it for 2020 I didn’t use the insurance that I had purchased. There was a ton of red tape In order to change the dates from 2019 to the 2020 trip. It would have been easier to get congress to actually do something, than to change the dates on the policy. Basically I ended up wasting the cost of the policy, and will just get another one for the 2020 trip.

Thank you for your review. Insurance providers do allow travelers to transfer their policies from one trip to another. By transferring the policy to a future trip it allows customers to not lose the premium paid for the original policy, but it does require certain documentation to be submitted. Upon notice of the transfer request, an email is sent to the customer with the documentation requirements before the request is sent to the provider for processing. I am glad I purchased trip insurance for a once in life time 2 week trip to Italy. Luckily nothing prevented us from taking the trip and we didn't have any issues during the trip so we didn't need to file a claim. It would be nice if you use the same company several times for different trips that they provide you some type of rebate or cash back if you don't need to file any claims.

All good except we find the price went up because of our age although we both are in excellent health. To be fair, I expect that most insurers do this.

Because of the 18 month extended wait between booking our trip and leaving for it, we had to buy "cancel for any reason" insurance which is very expensive and does not provide 100% return of money.

There is a need to customize coverage. I have duplicate medical coverage, but would pay to just have "Cancel for any Reason."

At the end of the day, it was a fine policy. Since I didn't utilize it, Thank God for that, I can't really say just how good it really was in all other factors which would have been the most important part, of course- the actual coverage of everything and the actual response of the company to my actual needs . I felt it was too high a price but couldn't find anything else that met my criteria of $250,000 medical coverage...

I got full coverage. Trip interrupted because China officials would not approve our visit, forcing us to divert trip with 2 extra days in hotel and change air plans with loss flights. We were told this is not covered. Such a problem is not specified as yes or no, and I feel this is a way it of paying for something I should have been reimbursed for.
