C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I had to cancel a 6-day guided trek to Mayan ruins in Guatemala after the first day due to severe intestinal problems. By the time I was taken out by mule to the nearest village, the symptoms had cleared,but the trek had of course continued without me . I did not see a doctor after I got out of the jungle because time had cured the problem. C&F Travel Insured refused to even accept a claim because I did not have a doctor's report (as if I could find a doctor in the jungle). I travel frequently but will never use Travel Insured again.

Unfortunately, this is a standard practice with all travel insurance companies, for an insured to provide required documentation as set forth in the policy, in order to receive payment for those loses.     The C+F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector includes the following coverage under Trip Interruption as per the Certificate found in your Confirmation of Coverage:
    "Your, Your Family Member’s, Your Traveling Companion’s, Your Traveling Companion’s Family Member, Your Business Partner’s or Your Business Partners Family Member’s covered Sickness or Injury which: a) occurs while You are on Your Trip, b) requires Medical Treatment at the time of interruption resulting in medically imposed restrictions, as certified by a Legally Qualified Physician, and c) prevents Your continued participation on Your Trip;"

    We strongly recommend customers read the terms and conditions of the policy within the review period to determine if the policy fits your needs. C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
Lengthy review process and incompetent claims agents exacerbated the time it took to review my claim and only paid out a portion of the claim. I provided the claim form and supporting documentation, including an excel spreadsheet with sufficient detail the first time I submitted the claim. The agent requested said claim form and said documentation nearly two weeks later and then offered a portion of the claim about a week later. Look elsewhere.

    We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the claim process and apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. You first submitted your claim on 10/17/2018, but your check was not issued until 11/12/2018. That is a little longer than Crum and Forster Travel Insured's usual turnaround time of two to three weeks. In addition, you submitted your claim under Travel Delay which has a maximum limit of 1,000 USD (200 USD per day) for each traveler, so if you were delayed for only one day, your maximum reimbursement would be only 400 USD for two people.

I did not have to file a claim. I thought the price reasonable for the coverage and it provided me peace of mind. It was worth it.
