Had to make a claim because of catching covid and quarantine requirements in the country I was staying. The claims process was easy and the agent I spoke to on the phone was very kind and helpful.
It did take a couple months for my claim to be processed and paid due to being unusually busy. This did not bother me and I was told that usually they try to process claims within 30 days and hope to be back to that target by January 2023.

Fortunately we did not need to use our plan. Only purchased the part in case of illness or quarantine as our trip itself was covered by the tour company. Was glad to find a plan that actually HAD quarantine coverage & that it could be purchased separately.

Processing my claim took some time (it sat in the mailroom for several days) and it was difficult to get an update on the status. My emails usually took 2 days to be answered and the response was sketchy on detailed information. Overall I was very pleased since my claim was approved as filed and I did not have to submit additional information.

Although I did not have to file a claim, I was very satisfied with the coverage provided, especially the fact that I could opt to have primary medical coverage for a small additional amount. Also, customer service is very responsive, unlike other companies I've had, and they provide hard copies of their policies, unlike some other companies who only provide online copies of a 50-page policy. I've used this company several times, and I will use them again in the future.

It was comforting knowing that many of the costs of the trip were covered in case of cancellation or delay. The medical portion was especially important and we saw an example of why on our flight home. A fellow passenger had fallen and broken his leg. He was in a cast from waist to toe, unable to bend the leg at all and was booked in economy. Fortunately, first class was not full and the crew accommodated him in a first class seat. What a disaster if that was not an option. It's not just the $ lost if something cancels the trip but the unexpected while on the trip that also needs coverage.

Fortunately I did not have any problems during the trip so I didn't need this coverage in the end. However it did give me peace of mind that if anything did happen and I needed it I had the coverage.

This was the second time we used Travel Insured International. The first time, we did file a claim which was promptly handled to our satisfaction. The second time (April 2019) we did not file a claim.
