It's hard to review something I had no reason to use, but nevertheless I was glad to have the coverage, just in case... So many things can go wrong or sideways when traveling. And the price was reasonable.

I got this plan because it had a pre-existing condition waiver, a generous "buyer's remorse" refund period, and did not explicitly require seeing a physician prior to the departure date (although, like all such policies, it did require medical verification of inability to travel). I have not experienced the claims process, which is critical with such policies.

We have used Insure My Trip many times before. It's an easy web site to use where you enter specific trip information and needs. It then offers you a wide range of policies ranging in coverage and price. I've also used their customer service for questions and for assistance with filing a claim. They have always been clear, concise, and helpful with their customer support.
For travel overseas medical insurance and evacuation were important. Because we are older and our parents are older we now use it for all of our trips in the United States. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering trip insurance.

I purchased this plan for our October 2018 Florida vacation. I have always purchased travel insurance for beach trips during hurricane season, but I have never had to use it. A week before we were supposed to arrive, Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle and caused a great deal of destruction to the area we were going. No power, no water, roads destroyed, rentals damaged. I submitted my claim on 10/12 and received my reimbursement from Travel Insured International on 11/13. I have no complaints and I would use this company again. Always read the fine print on any travel insurance before you buy and make sure it covers what your concerns are. I will continue to use Insuremytrip.com.

Two weeks before our trip started, my girlfriend broke her ankle. The bike tour company graciously refunded our fee. We asked InsureMyTrip to cancel our insurance policy, not for a refund but to apply to a tour we would take NEXT YEAR. We were unable to schedule and book the tour AND get all the documents submitted before the deadline (beginning date of the cancelled tour), so extenuating circumstances don't matter. We lost our premiums despite forwarding emails from the tour providers. InsureMyTrip sucks at customer service.

InsureMyTrip is very sorry that this process did not work out for you. Although we were able to process the first change of travel dates for you, we were unable to process the second request since the insurance companies require documentation with both the new and previous itinerary, such as an invoice, receipt or billing statement confirming the trip was cancelled and refunded prior to your scheduled departure date.Nov 06,2018

Fortunately, we didn't have to use any of your services. We almost did when they closed all the streets in Manhattan due to the bombs, then we would have missed our flight. But we left few hours before it all happened.
