The Voyager Choice is a single-trip Medical plan which offers emergency medical coverage while you are traveling abroad. This plan does require you to have primary health insurance in place, but there is no exclusion for pre-existing conditions. With this plan, you have the ability to select the medical limit and also the deductible amount that you are most comfortable with.

The coverage offered by the GeoBlue Voyager Choice plan was just what I needed; emergency medical without limitations regarding pre-existing conditions. I didn't realize that making my initial trip purchases more than a few weeks before purchasing travel insurance would eliminate many coverages.

We purchased cheap travel insurance from our airline but it covered little medical costs. We were traveling abroad and wanted this plan primarily for medical coverage. We are seniors, and were happy to find this good medical coverage for a reasonable premium. I also liked that it was affiliated with Blue Cross in our state. I would purchase it again.

Nothing can ruin your trip more than finding out you have a kidney stone prior to departing. I was grateful to find this insurance policy which did not have the traditional pre-existing condition exclusion that most policies have. It gave me the peace of mind to know I could relax and enjoy what turned out to be the vacation of a lifetime. No issues while gone, but was good knowing I was covered if there was a flare up.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The GeoBlue Voyager Choice plan does not have a Pre-Existing Condition Period and covers a sudden recurrence of a pre-existing condition up to the maximum medical limit selected. However, it is still advised that you read the policy to review the exclusions that do apply.Apr 13,2015

We did not need the plan on this trip which is a good thing! I was really happy with the price of the plan. Travel medical insurance to places like Mexico is a very good idea.

While I forgot to purchase plan at beginning of trip reservation, I did find this coverage which would have helped at least for emergency medical expenses. We were fortunate not to have used it, but had a peace of mind that it was there.

Comprehensive policies, a different type of travel insurance, typically require customers meet specific criteria in order to waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion. These conditions are generally:
1) Purchase the policy within 10 to 30 days of making your initial trip payment.
2) Insure 100% of the prepaid and non-refundable travel related expenses prior to your departure date.
3) Be medically fit to travel the day you purchase the policy.
