To be honest, I never had to file a claim so I truly don't know how good they are in responding to a claim. This is really where the plan will show up as being 5-stars or less. I used it for my trip and I liked that I entered each specific cost so that they would reimburse me appropriately if I had to use it.

While on vacation in Italy my travel partner came down with a hemorrhaging bladder infection. We called the number for coverage and got a recording, we weren’t impressed, but thought someone would call back in at least an hour. We didn’t hear from anyone until the next day and we had already taken care of the problem by other means. I’m just glad it wasn’t a more serious problem. Completely dissatisfied with this company.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We have passed this information on to the insurance provider. After purchase, IMG emails a purchase confirmation which can be printed and carried with you on the trip. The purchase confirmation includes the 24 hour emergency contact information. This is the phone number that you would want to call while you are traveling. No need to file a request for coverage. I know from first hand that any visit for medical service is prohibitive. So the coverage for health situations makes every dollar spent on health coverage, not to mention other coverage, is worth it’s weight on gold.

I had a medical issue while overseas but didn’t want to visit a doctor in a 3rd world country. Since I waited until I was back in the US to get medical treatment I was not eligible to file a claim.

The IMG iTravelInsured LX plan provides coverage up to 100,000 USD per person for unforeseen, accidental injuries or emergency illnesses which first occur during the trip, and are treated by a physician during the trip. If medical treatment is not obtained during the trip, and the traveler waits until returning home to the United States, the travel insurance expires and is not responsible for the medical bills.
