Thank goodness we did not have to use the policy. I purchased it for the medical coverage, “just in case”. The proof is in the insurance company and coverage when you need and have to use it. That is the test!

Luckily, we did not need to file any claims. However, when we were evaluating plans, the customer service rep we spoke to was very helpful and explained and answered all of my questions. I felt confident that the coverage we had was reasonable and met our needs. I liked the app that provided the documents and emergency phone numbers on my iPhone. We would choose this plan again for future international travels.

The plan seemed to cover all of the items that were of concern. Foreign health insurance, trip cancellation, and trip alteration among them. Fortunately, we did not need to make a claim. I could not figure out how the "pre-existing condition waiver" worked. I acquired the insurance within 30 days of making my initial trip payment and within 24 hours of making my final non -refundable payment. I wanted only the two payments for transportation to be covered. All others were refundable. I assume that we were covered for pre-existing conditions. I need to be sure prior to our next trip.

This policy had the coverage we were looking for. However, there was predicted storm on departure day for our trip. I tried to call on Memorial Day (day before departure day) to ask a question about coverage and actions I should take in case of flight disruptions. Offices were closed and emergency contact information was not accurate. I discussed with Insuremytrip reps who were surprised. They tried to contact IMG as well and were unsuccessful. If I had been on my trip and been trying to call with an emergency, not being to get in touch with the insurance company would have been a problem.

The policy that you purchased included a waiver for pre-existing conditions with the following conditions met:
"a) Your Payment or Deposit for this Policy and enrollment form are received within 24 hours of the final Payment for Your Trip or before the final Payment for Your Trip; and
b) You are not disabled from travel at the time Your premium is paid."
