Make sure to add many extra days to the end dates on your trip. I was denied my travel delay claim coming home because the delay caused me to be one day after the date I said I was returning. It took John Hancock 3 weeks to respond and that was after I had to send an email requesting any kind or correspondence requesting letting me know they received my claim. I will say the employees were kind and helpful when on the phone with them.

    "When Your Coverage Ends:
    Coverage is effective for the stated term shown in the confirmation of benefits. In addition, Your coverage will end at 11:59 P.M. local time on the earliest of the following dates:
    (a) the date You cancel Your Covered Trip;
    (b) the Scheduled Return Date as stated on the travel tickets;
    (c) the date You return to Your origination point if prior to the Scheduled Return Date; or
    (d) the date You leave or change Your Covered Trip (unless due to Unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances covered by the Policy)."

Back on July 23rd, 2019 we sent you an email asking for additional claim information if you wished us to assign an "Anytime" advocate to review the claim file, but you did not reply. If you have changed your mind and would like InsureMyTrip to look into that claim, would you please reply to the email requesting that additional claim information back on July 23rd.

Was pleased with the coverage and the communication. Did not have to file a claim so we did not have to use the trip insurance. I will always use John Hancock for all of my trip insurance needs.

They needed more information on the reason why I filed a claim however instead of emailing me it was emailed to the library where the claim was scanned from. I called because of no response and found out this happened. I was also not reimbursed for the airfare because Delta gave me a credit (which I probably won’t use by 10/19) due to the situation.

    Thank you for your review. You bring up an interesting point about insuring the cost of prepaid and nonrefundable airfare, many travelers often have questions about this as well. Comprehensive policies cover 100% of the prepaid nonrefundable trip costs as long as all of those expenses are insured. When it comes to airfare and insuring the expense on your policy, in the event of a claim you have the option to either accept the airline credit or deny the credit and file a claim for that full amount insured on the policy with the insurance provider. By denying the credit and filing with the insurance, you are able to be reimbursed the out of pocket expense from the insurance and not held to using the credit by a certain time with the airline. We filled out the forms, checked in for a status update, got a professional response and a check soon thereafter in the exact amount we had expected. Fortunately, we didn't have to use any of your services. We almost did when they closed all the streets in Manhattan due to the bombs, then we would have missed our flight. But we left few hours before it all happened.
We will consider your services again for our next trip

It's difficult to rate an insurance plan if you did not need to file a claim. I am thankful for that. I assume that this policy would have been adequate, had I needed to file a claim and that everything would have been handled appropriately.

I thought we might have to cancel our trip and when I called to discuss this, your rep was almost hostile by the thought that I might file a claim. Would not help me with details of coverage and would only email me claim form
