It's difficult to rate an insurance plan if you did not need to file a claim. I am thankful for that. I assume that this policy would have been adequate, had I needed to file a claim and that everything would have been handled appropriately.

Well, I assume my reviews of plans will be good to great, until I have to go through a claim experience... that will be the real test! Hopefully even after a claim experience I will be able to give the same ratings!! However, I am thrilled to give a good review for a plan not needed! Hope to stay healthy and travel more and “not use†the plans I purchase!

I filed a claim for delayed baggage. My luggage was stuck in Moscow customs and never made it to me in Siberia, forcing me to buy clothes to make it through the trip. All of the documentation I submitted - from the lost baggage claim to all of the purchase receipts - were in Russian so I was unsure if my claim would be accepted. It was!!!! Today I received a check for the maximum allowed amount specified in the policy. I will use John Hancock on my next overseas trip!

We bought this insurance to protect a large investment in a very special European vacation. We were concerned about possible severe weather events, labor issues in the countries we visited, as well as potential health issues and the usual risks of delayed flights and missed connections. Thankfully, our trip went well and we did not have to file a claim, but we were glad we didn't have to worry about unexpected and unavoidable problems.

Unfortunately we had to cancel the trip 10 days before departure, due to a health issue. The customer service person at Hancock was helpful, and the company paid our claim promptly, within the time period specified.

Each Company will base the premiums of their plans by 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost. As the traveler's ages change, trip costs increase or the length of the trip is extended, the prices will also change accordingly.
