The Silver plan is the mid-level policy offered by John Hancock and may be ideal for families traveling with children, as kids 17 and under are free as long as one parent is covered under the plan. Coverage is offered if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip for a typical covered reason which can range from an unforeseen illness, injury or death to your destination being made uninhabitable by a natural disaster. The Silver plan does offer higher limits of coverage than the Bronze plan for Baggage, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation.

Thank you for your review. The premiums of the policies are determined by the insurance providers. The premiums are based on the age of the travelers, the length of the trip and the cost of the trip. As travelers get older, it can cause the premiums to increase. At this time, due to insurance laws, travel insurance cannot be discounted ore rebated. Like all other types of insurance, such as auto and home, once a policy has ended the policy is deemed used and premium nonrefundable, whether there was a claim filed or not. Agents assisted me a lot when I called and it is VERY MUCH appreciated. I coordinated the Hancock Silver Plan with existing coverage from one of my credit cards. I saved a lot! Thankfully, no claim. Trip was great. Please reward the fine agents who guided me on the phone. Truly professional!

If I could give you more than 5 stars I would. I injured my knee and it required major surgery. We had planned the trip of a life time with our church group to Israel. So along with the surgery and disappointment of not going, we had to deal with submitting a claim to get most of our money back. In the high stress period, what we did not need was another problem. I was a little concerned, due to previous experiences with other insurance companies, but filing the claim and getting paid was extremely easy. They responded promptly upon filing the claim, and with a very short time, we had our check for exactly what we expected. Kudo's to an insurance company that not only pays out a legitimate claim, but makes the client jump through no hoops to collect. We simply had to fill out the paper work, get our Doctors verification and wait a very short time to get our money. I have had very few insurance claims in my life, but this was by far the least amount of work and time to receive our money. You do not deserve just 5 stars, you deserve ten for the way our claim was handled. Thank you, it was very appreciated in a extremely stressful point in our lives.
