Hard to review an insurance plan unless you have to use them for a claim. Then, you know whether they are any good or not. I cannot say whether they take care of their customers without filing a claim.

i bought this insurance for a three-week trip to mexico. compared to the total price of my trip (plane fare, condo rental, etc.), the premium was entirely reasonable for peace of mind in terms of medical emergency, necessity for evacuation, etc.
the provision about coverage in the event of civil unrest (per a warning from the US state dept) was especially useful this year, because there had been violent protests related to political events and also drug cartel killings in mexico just before i left the USA, and i wasn't sure (a) whether to change my mind about going or (b) what i would do if the unrest occurred closer to where i was going.
with the insurance i bought, i felt much more comfortable about costs coverage in the event of some disaster -- medical, political, even family illness or death.
in addition, buying it thru insuremytrip.com was really easy. it would have taken me hours of research to get the info about travel insurance if i had not stumbled onto this website.

I have learned one thing for certain, I will always travel with trip insurance. We were almost hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street. Chose this coverage because of primary Baggage and Medical benefits. Having to make a claim is difficult enough, without the added hassle of dealing with multiple insurance companies.

Depending upon which state the insured lives in, the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Prime plan plan offers primary coverage for Baggage Delay, Trip Delay, and Medical Expense benefits. Please keep in mind that there is a Coordination of Benefits for medical coverage on this plan. If the insured has a health insurance policy that works outside the United States, the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Prime may pay in excess of the primary health insurance policy.Mar 27,2015

We always purchase trip insurance before going on international trips, and when we get home, I'm always thankful that we didn't have to use it, but on the last day of our most recent trip, unfortunately, we had to use the insurance as my husband got chest pains, and we had to go by ambulance to the emergency hospital in Mexico. Luckily, it was just a heart flutter, so after three EKGs and some IV meds, we went home. The insurance we got, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company Prime, from Insuremytrip.com paid 100% of the bill that his US primary insurance didn't cover. I just got the reimbursement check today, and I only filed the claim last month.

On our cruise someone fell down the stairs and hurt themselves badly. Someone else had a stroke. Each incident made me glad we had been smart enough to get travel insurance.
