C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
I put in for clothing while I waited for my luggage to show up and then I had to go back to the airport to get my luggage when it finally showed up. They couldn’t deliver it for 3-4 more days at which time I would be on a boat. They didn’t reimburse me for those costs and they did not reimburse me for all the close costs either.

AIG Travel Travel Guard® Preferred
I had no reason cancelation clause and your agent kept asking me for reasons and proof for my trip being canceled. And to only refund 50% of my trip cost left me in the red. I used another insurance company for my trip to Europe this summer and had my train passage interrupted in France. I had to make airline reservations to complete my trip, and the other company refunded my airfare in full only asking for proof of train cancelation and the cost of airfare. While your company took over a month to send me a refund, this company resolved the issue in two days.

    Documentation confirming cancellation penalties is required, however CFAR is truly cancel for ANY reason and additional information regarding the reason for cancellation is not usually necessary. This information is required if/when the reason for cancellation falls under a covered Trip Cancellation peril listed within the Policy of Insurance. If the reason is not covered under the base plan, and is being reviewed under CFAR instead - additional proof of reason for cancellation should not be requested. As such, I apologize that you were asked for additional documentation for a CFAR claim. I’ve sent your claim to Claims Management so that coaching can be provided. I’m glad to hear your claim was paid, and again apologize for the inconveniences along the way. I hope you will give us another chance to exceed your expectations, and consider Travel Guard insurance for your next trip.

I can only vouch for benefits provided under this plan. The real test is when you are in a position of having to use the coverage. I am an R.N., so I understand benefits, coverage, limits, etc.

I did not use the coverage, but had the security of knowing it was available if needed.
If one DOES need to use the coverage, then the company’s response, timing and responsibility would be something of value. I have done enough insurance coverage claims in medical offices to know that some companies are very good with customer service, others are not. You will not know until you have to use it whether the company is valuable/reliable.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I got sick just a few days after the "review period" was over, and tried to cancel the policy, since I would NOT be taking the trip. This happened the first week of Sep. The canceled trip was for Nov 1. I could not get a penny back. Emailed several times. $472 gone! If you might get sick, you must do it within ten days of purchasing the plan. No sympathy. Ridiculous!
