Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I lost my e reader on the airplane and was able to submit the purchase receipt and the claim made to the airline. I received prompt attention and payment

Since we did not use the coverage, I can't really answer some of the questions above. (and the website won't allow for no answers so I chose the middle ratings) If we had had to file a claim, then I would be able to evaluate how well we were covered and how well satisfied we were.

I’ll start by saying we’ve traveled often and purchased insurance each time for the last several trips. We have particular requirements and the InsureMyTrip agent we spoke with was remarkably patient and helpful in sorting out the various options and directing us to the one or two that would meet our needs. So we have only appreciation for the service from IMT.
The trip insurance companies, however, are a different story. I believe the basic principle of Seven Corners, probably all the insurance companies, is to minimize the likelihood of having to pay a claim either by the terms and conditions or the obstacles to filing. We did file a claim. Because our initial outbound flight was cancelled, we missed a continuing flight and had to pay $1,200 for a ticket for the following day (plus other expenses). The claim forms are remarkably picky, requiring an actual ticket rather than an e-ticket. Who provides paper tickets anymore. And the other documentation requirements were onerous, designed to create barriers rather than to facilitate the process.
But it was the fine print that was eyebrow raising. After accepting the claim, Seven Corners sent checks for all of $150, which was their policy limit for trip delay. That’s it. Doesn’t matter what it actually cost; that’s all they’ll pay, far less even than the cost of the premium.
It was too much of a hassle to fight and probably lose an appeal so I gave up.
If you read the reviews on this site, very few purchasers had to file a claim and many of these were dissatisfied.
Lesson: Carefully read the fine print. The limits are pretty low. The claim process is painful. The premiums are high. I suspect this is true for all insurers, not just Seven Corners. I also suspect that, for these reasons, it’s a fabulously lucrative business. Be forewarned.

Dear Michael,
We do accept e-tickets. Because of your feedback, we realized an old claim form requesting paper tickets was still in circulation. The Round Trip program does have daily limits of 0 for travel delay. Please contact your Insure My Trip representative and we can reopen your claim for review.
We were close to having to file a claim for trip cancellation and later for trip interruption, but neither came to pass; so we have no experience with which to judge claim satisfaction - the most important part of insurance coverage. We were disappointed with your having to cancel and rewrite the policy each of the times we increased coverage when we incurred new nonrefundable costs (a practice that another major insurer that we have used does not do); as well as your applying the full premium to the older of us rather than separate premiums based on age. Not only that, the full premium rate increased upon the cancel and rewrite because I entered an older age category.

This insurance was important to me because I was on a small expedition ship hundreds of miles from nowhere in the Arctic, but did not have a claim so can not say how effective the plan really was. Good price, but found out later I could have gotten the insurance cheaper directly through Travel Guard rather than going through "Insure My Trip" and will do so next time.

We had scheduled a very expensive trip to the Arctic, but I had open heart surgery instead, which was a big surprise. Travelex was great and fairly prompt in paying the full amount of our coverage after a phone call or two.
Even though we didn't use it, I would strongly advise others to purchase cancel for any reason coverage and remind them that it is only good up to three days before the trip. Life is very unpredictable and there are a lot of exclusions in regular travel insurance, so buy the extra coverage.

I find InsuremyTrip.com and Travel Guard to be excellent. I have had to change dates a few times, and they both have been very helpful and accommodated our needs. I feel good that I have Insuremytrip.com to turn to for the best comparisons available. Insurance can be very confusing and they make it very clear for each policy.

Our plans changed after we purchased the insurance and I was able to transfer our coverage to the other dates with no problem, and no additional fees. Fortunately we never needed to file a claim.
