They were hard to get a hold of after I had a fall and was in the emergency department. All they were required to do was send a fax to the emergency room which is what was requested, however the consultant on the phone instead decided to email and left me sitting in the emergency room for a further 3 hours because the email when to somewhere else in the hospital. I had to have friends at home ring them 5 further times in the middle of the night before the fax was received. I would not recommend this insurance company and I’m glad it wasn’t a major accident or I would have suffered.

When I called to inquire about coverage customer service agent was very knowledgeable, pleasant, was U.S. based, easy to understand ( very important issue to us) and answered all of my questions.
Very reasonably priced, excellent value for our needs.
Luckily I did not have to file a claim as we had no travel or medical issues.

Berkshire Hathaway was an excellent company from which to obtain travel insurance. Their policy was reasonably priced, and included what I needed to cover my trip. As it turned out, my brother became gravely ill, and We had to cancel our trip. Berkshire Hathaway processed our claim, and full payment, in a timely manner. I would highly recommend!

My tablet screen cracked while on my trip. And my insurance covered up to a certain amount for baggage and personal effects. So I called them Friday while on my trip. I was emailed within two days just as promised with the claim paperwork. I finished the required paperwork on Tuesday. Then that very afternoon my claim was approved. And the next Monday I got my check! I am very happy with this insurance.

This was a very long and expensive trip - we were thankful to have a company that would cover us for four months. People in other countries don't have the many options that we have.

After reviewing the details of your assistance case, we see several communication interactions with you for a request to have a verification of benefits faxed directly to your medical provider. Our case notes indicate those were faxed within an hour and a half of your original call and request. However, we do agree your request could have been completed in a more timely manner unfortunately due to our misunderstanding by first sending the verification of benefits to the medical provider via email. As a result of your concern, our claims manager is proactively reaching out to discuss the situation with you.
