We learned a lesson 7 years ago in Australia-always get primary medical if you are on Medicare. InsureMyTrip has always been soooo help in recommending the policy with the coverage we need.

The plan provided peace of mind; however, we were fortunate in that our trip went smoothly and we did not have to use the insurance. So I don’t have an opinion on how well the insurance would have worked if we needed to file a claim.

Only issue is that we thought we had tire coverage for our vehicle, needed to buy additional coverage once we went on our trip.

The Rental Car coverage on most plans covers if the car is damaged due to collision, theft, vandalism, windstorm, fire, hail, flood or any cause not in Your control while in Your possession. We did not use the plan, we were not able to take the trip. While we were refunded 100% of our trip cost from the travel provider, we could not transfer our insurance policy to another vacation. The policy was exactly what we wanted in a travel policy though, just hate that it can't be moved while you're still months away from your trip. Next time we will wait closer to our trip to purchase the policy.

I purchased the policy in February for travel in Sept. and Oct. My travel plan took me through Hong Kong which, in the intervening weeks, had serious rioting including incidents at the HK airport. I had a question about my insurance coverage and contacted your representative for clarification in the event the riots caused a cancellation of my trip. I was advised that my policy provided for such an event. Further, IMG said they were closely monitoring the situation and were in contact with people in HK. They assured me that, in their estimation, my travel plan should not be delayed or interrupted and I had sufficient coverage in the policy. It gave me piece of mind and my trip went off without a hitch.
