Thank goodness I did not need to use my insurance for a trip to a remote Himalayan country, but I felt confident that I was protected with my Generali Global Standard plan. The price was very reasonable in relation to the coverage I needed (such as evacuation insurance, just in case). Great customer reviews, easy to purchase and good company reputation were key factors in choosing Generali insurance for my trip.

I increased my insurance twice as I added more trip expense (e.g. hotel reservation). In both cases, in contrast to other insurance that I have purchased through InsureMyTrip, days after my requested increase, I heard nothing. Then I received a voicemail from Generali explaining that I must speak with them to bind the insurance. Very inconvenient, especially since I was already overseas when I got the message.

Generali is a complete racket. I have been tying for weeks to follow up on a claim and all they do is give me the run-around. Obviously they don't want to pay out the claim so they are ignoring me and hoping I'll give up. What a bunch of crooks. Will never use Insuremytrip or Generali again.
