Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Fortunately, we did not need to utilize our trip insurance. It was reassuring to have the peace of mind that "if" something were to happen while on vacation that we were covered for any loss/expense

We took out this insurance due to a family member with Stage 4 Merkle Cell Carcinoma, not knowing how long she would last, or if we could take a long-planned week's vacation in Italy. We'd never taken trip insurance before, and decided the $175 cost was a worthwhile investment. After my sister took a turn for the worst, we decided we would have to re-book our flight with SwissAir to a time later this year after the uncertainty of my sister's condition would not be an issue. But after reading about 30 pages of the 'fine print', we realized that this cancer was a pre-existing condition and we would not be covered for her illness. Very, very disappointed in having wasted $175 on a policy that has many exclusions.

Thank you for your review. InsureMyTrip contacted Generali Global Assistance claims department and were advised that you never filed a claim. In addition, the Generali claims department replied as follows:
"We're sorry to hear about the circumstances surrounding your experience, and for not meeting your expectations. We want our customers to choose the correct policy to fit their needs and stress the importance of reviewing your coverage details via the sample Description of Coverage/ Insurance Policy that’s provided at the time of purchase, and contacting (800) 348-9505 or (emailing) [email protected] with additional questions. We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. If you have additional questions please contact us at the number or email provided above."
Fortunately we did not have to use the plan coverage, which is the only reason I cannot confirm if it "covered everything" and why I rated it a 4 star. However the woman who helped me with the program when I first signed on for the 3 passengers involved was amazing, patient, clear in explanation and very thorough both on the phone and in email follow up. I am sorry I cannot recall her name but I give her 10 stars for customer service and I would certainly use this plan again on future trips.
Thank you,

We have purchased the Travel Guard gold plan over the years because it provides the coverage we think we need. Fortunately, we have not had to make a claim until this past trip (April 2019). We contacted Travel Guard, they promptly sent the claim form package. We filled out the information requested and mailed it back to them. At this point our frustration began. Upon calling them they reported that the package did not arrive there until 11 days later. Eventually a claim adjuster was assigned. Then silence. And then short replies back that made no sense. At the end I had to get a supervisor involved. It was a simple claim through a single tour provider -- inclusive of air, ground, tours, food, accommodations. Two days after involving the supervisor, we received a call from the
adjuster to say the claim was approved and a check was in the mail. It arrived promptly. Because
of their delays with the claim I plan to look for another company to handle my travel insurance in the
future. Dealing with them again on a possible claim is not something I want to repeat.

We apologize for any difficulties that you experienced through the claims process. AIG Travel Guard would also like you to know that they appreciate the feedback. An AIG claims supervisor will be calling you for further discussion.
This was my first time purchasing this type of insurance for my child. I had many questions and the travel representatative was so helpful answering all of them. I would highly encourage you to call if you have any questions and you will have peace of mind when traveling or when your loved one is traveling.
