Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I do firmly believe in travel insurance. Generali, has good plans and the coverage I need. We had others in our group who had delayed and canceled flights, and I have the comfort of knowing if my had been there would have been some help.

It’s really impossible to accurately rate this plan since we, fortunately, didn’t actually have to use it. All I can say is that it looked good on paper, and I hope it would’ve worked well if we had needed to use it.

UPDATE: Shortly after I wrote this review, my claim was swiftly processed - no questions asked. On one hand, I appreciate that they didn't make me jump through a lot of additional hoops (though I did sent A LOT of documentation with the claim); on the other, it took three months with little communication and a bad review to get things moving. I think I would give this plan another try now that I know they can be helpful with a claim; however, I hope they can figure out a way to improve their turnaround time.
FIRST REVIEW:
I've purchased many trip insurance plans throughout the years, and for the first time this December, I had a missed connection. I was glad to have trip insurance, and when I returned, I filed a claim. I submitted all materials soon after returning from our trip. I got an automated response saying that they were very busy but they would get back to me when I was next in line. I then got emails about two weeks and four weeks later saying the same thing. The last I heard from them was over a month ago.
There has been zero updates on my claim's progress. I chose this option because of its great reviews, but it looks like when you actually need to file a claim, they are not helpful. It's now been almost 3 months since I had to pay out-of-pocket for my missed connection, so I'm out that money as well as the money I paid for the policy. Very unhappy with this experience and policy.

While on the cruise someone had to be airlifted off the ship to a US hospital. I hope they had a plan and this is why I buy one. Never had to use it though but if I need it I will have it.

The only real test of an insurance policy or company is if you need to file a claim, which fortunately we didn’t. An insure my trip agent was very helpful in finding the right policy for me. A heads up: because we had had Covid the agent said it would be considered a pre-existing condition.

I have used Generali for many trips. I had no need to file a claim for this particular trip but have had several trips in the past, that I did need to file a claim. They were very easy to file and sent my claim money immediately.
