i did not make a claim but it was very easy to work with insuremytrip to understand the coverage and Nationwide did send me detailed info on how to get help if needed while traveling

Extremely expensive comparing premium to possible coverage. If regular insurance charged comparable amounts, no one could afford it. But unfortunately it is necessary for travel coverage. In short, premiums are relatively high compared with conventional non-travel insurance.

Outstanding. You get more than the cruise ship offers. I felt safe and great knowing I had insurance traveling so far. I didn't need to use it, but happy I had it, just in case! Great company! Great everything, price and what you get for your money. I highly recommend this company

I am now in the 5th month of attempting to obtain a partial refund for a trip that had to be cancelled due to a dire medical diagnosis and subsequent treatment. The diagnosis was early enough to allow me to cancel the cruise and reduce the insurance request by 50% of the purchased coverage amount. I was on the insurance web site when I contacted the insurance rep through the chat feature and was informed that I did not have a claim submitted (even though the web site showed the claim number, date of claim, and the heading "Claim in Progress" - I have a screenshot). As we were discussing this, the screen suddenly changed to report that I had no claim. When I questioned this, the rep had "no idea" how this happened. I hope I am sending this review prematurely and I am going to receive the partial refund (then I will amend this review) but I am proceeding to answer now as I received a request to do so from the company to review how I enjoyed my cruise.

Policy does not cover expenses If a third party excursion provider fails to get you back to the ship prior to leaving port- you have to look at these third party providers very carefully before deciding if there is risk. Policy with the added cancel for any reason was expensive. There seemed, however, to be fewer qualifiers with filing claims than other policies, so we felt if we had a loss there was a reasonable chance that the claim would be paid. Our trip was successful and we are thankful we did not need to file a claim.

Just hope you don't have to file a claim! We paid nearly a thousand dollars for a policy that contains MAJOR exclusions written in the fine print about stolen baggage - both a long list of items and conditions under which they will not cover a loss. We specifically chose a plan with baggage protection, only to be told a month after our claim was filed they would not cover our loss because our travel bags were stolen from a locked car. Find another insurance company that does not play this kind of game with customers to avoid paying for situations you may find yourself in through no fault of your own. Made a rotten travel experience even worse to know the insurance you purchased was worthless.
