We missed a hotel stay due to the fire in Nairobi in August. We filed a claim as soon as we returned. The agent who handled it was very pleasant and efficient. They did require precise documentation, but once they had that, they approved the payment. I guess requiring proof, is what keeps their rates competitive. Word to the wise, keep your boarding pass stubs until all of the paper work is done.

As this was my first major travel trip I really didn't know just what kind of coverage was needed. I talked with a Customer Care Rep and got what I felt were good, appropriate answers to all my questions and so was able to make a more informed decision about the coverage. Fortunately, I didn't need to make a claim, but it was a relief to know I would have some coverage/ help if needed.

Not needing to file a claim I have no idea if this plan actually would have come through and covered without issue. It was easy to purchase and easy to tell what I was buying and what was covered.

Thankfully, I did not use the insurance while on the trip. It would be nice if you gave something back to every purchaser who did not use insurance while away. Insurance coverage is so expensive, it limits amount of travel possible for retired individuals.
