Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I am disappointed in the plan. I feel that your exclusion to cover mental health issues as a cause for cancellation is discriminatory. My wife did not plan her breakdown so we could get money back on the trip. It happened at an inopportune time as health issues can do. If she had a "medical issue" such as appendicitis or a broken leg we would have been reimbursed but due to the bias that surrounds mental health in this country we were denied. A health issue is a health issue, be it medical or emotional, and all should be covered.

The Travelex Travel Max plan does have the following exclusion: mental, nervous, or psychological disorders, except if hospitalized. This exclusion is a standard exclusion in most, if not all travel insurance plans. In the future, please consider calling us prior to purchase to discuss the plan exclusions. 1st, it’s hard to write an accurate review when we did not have to submit a claim and have no idea how difficult that process would be.
Our trip was originally scheduled for St. Maarten but due to the hurricane, was switched to Punta Cana. The hoops Insure My Trip made me jump though were enough to never use the company again. I made 1 phone call to CSA and they switched immediately while we were on the phone. I still jumped though IMT’s hoops to make sure if we needed to make a claim on any of our 8 travelers, we were covered. So unnecessary. The CSA rep was pleasant, the IMT agent, not so much. Again, will use CSA again, but not IMT.

Thank you for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you were satisfied with CSA's response. However InsureMyTrip must follow CSA procedures which do require us to have our customers submit their travel date changes in print attached to documents from the travel providers.
Nevertheless, most of our customers appreciate the ability to quote and compare plans prior to purchase along with our “Anytime Advocates†who will support you with the process if you feel a claim has been unfairly denied.

Originally I hadn't taken a plan when I booked my trip. Then I thought it's hurricane season and I think I need a plan. I looked through all available plans and decided on Nationwide. Thankfully I didn't have to use the plan - however there was a time with Irma and Maria spinning off the coast of the Dominican Republic that I was glad that I had the coverage. For $80 you can't go wrong.

When in the midst of trying to prepare evacuation from a Cat. 4 hurricane, I was told I did not have Trip Interruption coverage. Trip Interruption was clearly stated on my policy, but the gentlemen in Customer Service told me he would have to get with a manager to verify. I'm sorry, I can't wait for verification, I have to book my flight. I did wait for clarification, which never came and in the mean time all the flights were booked up. Ridiculous. I did FINALLY talk to a nice gentleman who told me to do what I needed to do and then make a claim, but who knows if they would have paid it.
