We experienced a travel delay of a week while in the UK and a new itinerary that involved a new plane flight. Our car rental for that week was not covered, but meals and lodging and new flight and missed nonrefundable lodging were covered. It took several months to resolve the claim and then paid promptly.

I had some changes in my plans which cost me money and are not covered by insurance. It would be nice if insurance covered such things. I have to admit that you have some peace of mind when you travel and you have some sort of insurance coverage. There are just too many chances of trip interruptions or cancellations today.

I did not need to use the plan, but I felt at ease having it. Will always get it when I leave the country for peace of mine. A friend of mine who I travel w/never gets overseas medical insurance and she broke her back overseas. If the break had been an unstable one, she would have lost everything.

A friend had the same plan and had to cancel their trip for medical reasons. AIG has given them the run a round for months. I would never use AIG based on their experience alone.
