Many of our flights were delayed. One required us to stay over night in JFK airport. When I called to ask about our travel delay benefit to pay for hotel, transportation, and food the phone representative told me there was no coverage if the delay resulted from airport construction. Upon repeated questioning she finally said we did have coverage. Other than this, the coverage seems to be a good value.

Each policy will define certain Hazards that would be covered under the travel delay benefit. CSA states under this definition that any delay of a common carrier (including inclement weather) would be covered. For a delay to be covered at an airport, it must result from an airline or common carrier directly.

Before I purchased my coverage I read many reviews and wondered if any of them actually submitted a claim (the reviews were all so glowing). I never wanted to submit a claim, however it turned out that I had a medical emergency and needed emergency care at the Denali Clinic and then needed to be airlifted back to Anchorage Providence Hospital. The care I received was incredible and the team at Insure My Trip were beyond incredible! They were there to answer all my questions and when it came to reimbursement for monies that I paid out, they covered everything. I will never take another trip without this coverage. Special thanks to Deidre in Claims who was always available to answer questions and assist with the claims! Thank you!

I like using Insure My Trip because it's easy to use and the experience is always improving. It's easy to compare policies. While on my cruise, I had to visit the ship's doctor so I made sure I got the paperwork and completed the AIG form. After completing the claim form online and submitting the paperwork, I received a courtesy from my claims person. I did not hear anything after 30 days, so I sent an email to the claims person. It was never answered. However after calling, I got another claims person who checked their records and saw that it was a straight forward claim and processed it. He was in contact with me via email regarding the status of the claim, and I received a check shortly thereafter. I have no idea what happened to the first claim person or why or if she dropped the ball. I'm just glad that someone stepped up to the plate and took over.
