Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
We purchased this because it offered the best coverage for the least amount of money and received high customer reviews. Luckily, we didn't have to use it. We would definitely use your company again.

We did not have a claim before or during our trip, so we can only evaluate the coverage. We especially liked the coverage of pre-existing conditions. Almost impossible to find that months after the first down payment on a trip.

Thank you for bringing the terms for the Pre-existing Condition Waiver under the Generali Premium plan to the attention of your fellow travelers.
The majority of Comprehensive plans offer a waiver of the Pre-existing Condition Exclusion if you purchase the policy within 10 to 21 days of the Initial Trip Payment Date. However, the Generali Global Assistance Premium plan offers that waiver if you purchase their policy prior to or within 24 hours of your final trip payment:
"We will not pay for loss or expense caused by or incurred resulting from a Pre-Existing Condition, as defined in the Definitions section, including death that results therefrom. This Exclusion does not apply provided you meet the following requirements:
a. coverage is purchased prior to or within 24 hours of your final Trip Payment; and
b. you are medically able to travel at the time the coverage is purchased; and
c. you insure 100% of your prepaid Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions."
I tried to put in a claim for a baggage delay on my outbound flight and was told that the insurance only covers only inbound flights. This is distressing to me since my baggage delay occurred within the timeframe of the trip. I am still without my luggage almost three days after arriving home. I should be reimbursed for items I have had to purchase due to delay.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to hear that your baggage was delayed on the way home. It is industry standard to cover Baggage Delay on the outward journey only to cover expenses for personal items that you need while traveling.
"BAGGAGE DELAY (Outward Journey Only)
The Company will reimburse You for the expense of necessary personal effects, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve (12) hours, while on a Trip."

Since I didn’t have to use it I can’t comment on how well the claim process goes. But I was very happy to have it and it was a very good price. Thank you

Fortunately, we did not need to utilize our trip insurance. It was reassuring to have the peace of mind that "if" something were to happen while on vacation that we were covered for any loss/expense

We have purchased the Travel Guard gold plan over the years because it provides the coverage we think we need. Fortunately, we have not had to make a claim until this past trip (April 2019). We contacted Travel Guard, they promptly sent the claim form package. We filled out the information requested and mailed it back to them. At this point our frustration began. Upon calling them they reported that the package did not arrive there until 11 days later. Eventually a claim adjuster was assigned. Then silence. And then short replies back that made no sense. At the end I had to get a supervisor involved. It was a simple claim through a single tour provider -- inclusive of air, ground, tours, food, accommodations. Two days after involving the supervisor, we received a call from the
adjuster to say the claim was approved and a check was in the mail. It arrived promptly. Because
of their delays with the claim I plan to look for another company to handle my travel insurance in the
future. Dealing with them again on a possible claim is not something I want to repeat.
