Although we didn't need to act on the policy, there was peace of mind knowing that we had taken the necessary precautions in the event of an unforeseen emergency. With aging parents in poor health, one never knew if we might be called away to deal with a particular situation. The policy from Nationwide fit the bill for us!

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Nationwide travel insurance does not exclude coverage for pre-existing medical conditions of non-traveling family members. However, there is no coverage for foreseen illnesses. Coverage is provided for an unforeseen worsening of condition, which can be verified by the attending physician.Dec 19,2014

Thank you for your reply, but unfortunately we do not offer just cancellation insurance on our website. All of our cancellation coverages are included in a Comprehensive Policy which include Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Baggage Loss/Damage, Medical, Dental, Emergency Medical Evacuation, 24 Hour Traveler Assistance, Baggage Delay, Travel Delay, and Accidental Death.Jan 22,2016

Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip when my mom was hospitalized 2 days before I was set to go on my trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, which was probably the most expensive trip I had ever planned. Seven Corners gave me a check for the the full amount! The only problem I ran into was trying to get a cancellation letter from the travel company which took longer and I got a letter from Seven Corners that said my file was closed. Luckily they reopened the file as soon as they received the letter requested and I got the check within 1 week. Very glad I bought travel insurance and very pleased with Seven Corners based on this experience.
