Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I mainly buy travel insurance for the medical coverage and the evacuation benefits. Given how much I'm already paying for the trip a number of the things that are included (like trip interruption) I could probably just as well pay for myself. I would like to see more a la carte options where I can pick and choose the sort of things I want covered. I didn't file a claim, so I can't speak to this policy's coverage. It was price competitive and provided a higher level of medical and medical evacuation coverage for the same price as others I compared.

This was a long trip over several countries with minimal delays, no lost baggage, and no injuries. This kind of insurance is a peace of mind thing that I don't have to worry if something goes horribly wrong. We can handle the usual travel problems, but the travel insurance we purchase is a you've got my back kind of thing. Usually we do not need it, but it is nice to know it is there.

The plan coverage gave me peace of mind, and made my trip more enjoyable knowing if something happened while in Thailand and China I was covered. I plan on using this coverage every time for future travel. Thank you.

When I was in Bangkok I was told that I would be reimbursed for the expense of all the material you wanted faxed to you. In the final settlement, the cost of faxing was rejected. I do not think this is fair to me.

Carol - You did not address his issue that he "was told" that he would be reimbursed. How is one to know what is covered when an agent on the phone says otherwise?
Well, The "proof is in the pudding." Not having to file a claim associated with the insurance, I really can't give a totally thorough review. BUT, all in all, I like the ease of securing the policy. I appreciated the "your trip is about to begin" note. The coverage seemed very good for the price. I'll go with John Hancock again in the future.

After filing a claim for a cancelled trip, our experience with this company was terrible. We continually had to call them to track the claim and every time they would say we needed to send more paperwork. Some receipts we sent them 4 times. We even had one of the tour operators email us to ask why they kept asking him for the same information. It took about 6 months for us to get about half of our money back. The one good thing I will say is about InsureMyTrip, who stepped in to help us at one point and were great to deal with.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are pleased that you allowed InsureMyTrip to advocate on your behalf. In the future, please reach out to us sooner.
We are sorry to learn that you were dissatisfied with the claims service. We apologize on behalf of the claims administrator that your claim took an unusually long time to process, and that you were repeatedly asked to provide documentation that had already been submitted. Depending upon the complexity of the claim, and how readily available the claims documentation is, claims processing should take anywhere between 3-8 weeks.
I am sorry to hear about your negative experience with filing your claim. Processing a travel insurance claim requires documentation that demonstrates the costs and circumstances surrounding the incident. If any information is missing or incomplete, the claim cannot be paid. Our claims department is held to a high standard of quality to make sure your claim is processed timely and correctly. When more information is requested, it is usually an attempt to help clients get the most out of their claim. In this instance, if the same information was requested multiple times, that was a mistake. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your honest feedback. Your review will help us examine the specifics of this situation and prevent it from happening to anyone else.
I did not file a claim for this trip, but did for my last trip. Excellent service from the claims representative, and received reimbursement check within 2 weeks. I will continue to use InsureAssist for future trips.
