Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
This review doesn't really mean much in the sense I didn't have to use/file a claim. Let's say it gave me peace of mind, but the real test would be if the policy/coverage actually did what I bought it for.
The ease of actual purchase of coverage/policy means nothing. Working when needed does!
Would I buy again, Yes. More important though, I hope I never have to use it.

I faxed my claim on July 22 and received approval on August 8, 2016 which I thought was pretty quickly. I didn't receive my payment until August 29. It took 21 days from the approval. That seems a little long to me. The letter said I'd get payment within 10-15 business days. That's exactly what it was but seems like after it's approved, the check should be processed immediately. Also, I didn't get payment for the extra night I had to stay in Capetown because of my friend's illness. Maybe all insurance policies are like that, don't know. But did receive reimbursement for the night I missed at Kruger, so I guess that was fair. The entire process took 5 1/2 weeks.....2 1/2 weeks for approval and 3 weeks to get the check. I think that process could be cut down and should be cut down.

How can I review this plan fairly when (fortunately) I had no occasion to make a claim? It covered (I think) the risks that I needed protection from. But the real test would have been whether I DID need some portion of the coverage and thus had to make a claim. So my review is based solely on the scope of (apparent) coverage and my totally subjective judgment of the cost.

Everything went smoothly on this trip. This was a do over because I had to cancel the same trip in December because of leg injury. AXA gave me back every penny. I highly recommend AXA.
