Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Need to know if a claim is needed while in another country, will the insurance pick up the costs or will we have to pay "up-front" and then get reimbursed. Just learned of a friend who had to pay out-of-pocket for a medical emergency in the amounts of $20K plus before they could get medical evacuation and they had a similar insurance plan. If that is the case, this is not a good plan to have.

Thank you for reaching out to us for this information. Since travel insurance plans vary significantly among companies, plans and states, we cannot fairly comment on the claim settlement for another insurance provider. However, we can review the terms and conditions in your plan which included a Primary Medical limit of 150,000 USD per person.

The only issue I had was setting up the claim. My father in-law passed away. The customer service agent wanted me to file the claim for an illness, which requires doctors to provide information. I thought that was odd for the situation. I spoke to a second customer service representative and they said to just send in the death certificate.

The policy was easy to purchase on line, easy to understand, and cost effective. The real test is response to claims; fortunately, we did not have any claims and so cannot report on this.
