Once the threshold of age 70 was realized, some competing travel insurance plans were extremely expensive for the coverage to Antarctica. General global policy provided necessary coverage at a much more reasonable cost.

We had a trip delay and incurred several small expenses. I attempted to file a claim, but the amount of documentation and from whom was over burdensome, particularly from international parties. Lesson learned.

The original trip, for which the insurance was purchased, was canceled by the travel company before the start of the program. The insurance company made it extremely difficult to transfer the insurance to the re-scheduled trip.

We initially scheduled our trip to Antarctica for the 2020/2021 season. When Covid hit, our trip was cancelled. Because of this insurance, we were able to recoup our money and reschedule our trip to 2022/2023. Our trip was saved and was awesome!
