Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Since I did not need to make a claim, I really don't know the quality of the insurance I purchased. It covered the areas I wanted at a better price than some competitors.

It is always good to be covered. We travelled with five couples and one couple had a death in the family and had to leave the trip early, so it is always good to be protected. Your plan covered what we wanted so we were pleased .

One purchases insurance with the hope it will never be used. So it was that I purchased travel insurance numerous times without ever filing a claim. My luck finally ran out, as my wife required surgery just a couple of weeks before a scheduled three week trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. The problem was related to a pre-existing condition. Fortunately, the insurance had been purchased with that coverage in place.
The folks at April were great. They emailed the claim forms within minutes of my telephone inquiry. The paperwork was actually less complicated than I had expected. I received a notice of approval about three weeks after the completed forms were received, and a check in full payment of the claim about a week after that.
I'm sorry my wife was taken ill and that we didn't get to experience that journey. Those are losses that really can't be replaced, but at least we didn't lose thousands of dollars on top of everything. I am grateful to April and will very definitely purchase insurance from them again for future travels.
Bottom line: Highly recommended; they came through as promised.

We travel with confidence when we have this insurance. In the past, we had to cancel a trip at short notice due to a health issue. We were promptly refunded the cost of the trip thanks to the CSA Travel Protection plan.

The original policy covered both me and my son. On or about 8/14/15, I received an email stating our travel dates were 8/17/15 through 8/31/15. I contacted Travel Guard by phone to let them know that both our travel dates were different than shown on the original policy. A Travel Guard representative walked me through a modification form to supposedly change both our travel dates. I was led to believe that my travel dates would be changed to 8/16/16 through 9/1/15 (which it was), and my son's would be changed to 8/14/15 through 9/05/15 (which it wasn't) on his new policy. I didn't realize that my son's new policy had the same travel dates as mine until I called Travel Guard on 9/5/15 to see if I could extend my son's travel date to 9/10/15. That's when I discovered that my son's travel dates had never been changed to what I had requested, or thought I requested. After speaking to two different Travel Guard representatives on 9/5/15, I was informed that a new request would be submitted to extend my son's travel dates to 9/10/15. My complaint is that I spent so much time on the phone on 8/14/15 to make changes that turned out to be incorrect. I feel the Travel Guard representative who walked me through the modification form did not provide the proper guidance for getting both our travel dates changed. My communication with Travel Guard on 9/5/15 is, of course, an entirely different issue.

C&F Travel Insured InternationalTrip Protector Lite Expanded
We use InsureMyTrip for every trip. First time with this plan and we ended up having to use it. We had to cut our trip short due to illness. Purchased the expanded plan to get coverage for a pre-existing condition. The plan reimbursed us for the unused days of the trip, in a timely manner. No problems at all.

I was very fortunate and did not have to file a claim. Filing a claim is the only way to really evaluate whether the plan has provided good coverage. Nevertheless, having insurance gives one the feeling of security.
