Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
I had to file a very simple straightforward rather inexpensive claim. The communication is absolutely nil They do not respond to you at all. They send you a simple form response and tell you to wait 15 days. 15 business days that is. Whoever expects to have to wait 15 business days to have a simple claim adjudicated. Completely unreasonable. Not the only thing, they did not fully cover my loss. Something to the effect that it was over the limit. I broke my camera, and you're not going to cover the cost of a $273 camera? Over The limit? Not impressed. I would say if you can go with a different company, that is communicative. And covers your loss fully... Go with the other company

Thank you for bringing this claim to our attention.
Nationwide advises that your claim was received on 04/22/2019 claiming 273.27 USD for the camera. Your claim was received via email and an automated response would have been sent advising of the 15 business days. The claims representative then reviewed the claim on 05/03/2019. Payment was released on 05/06/2019 for the maximum benefit of 250 USD per article.
We are sorry that you are unhappy with the maximum payment of 250 USD but the limitation is shown in your quote and can be reviewed prior to purchasing the policy:
"Baggage and Personal Effects – Coverage is Secondary:
Up to 600 USD / 250 USD per article limit; 500 USD combined maximum for specified items."
"There will be a combined Maximum Benefit limit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage for the following: jewelry; watches; articles consisting in whole or in part of silver, gold or platinum; furs; articles trimmed with or made mostly of fur; cameras and their accessories and related equipment.”
Even though you believe that the claim took too long to process, the claims representative settled your claim within 15 days of receiving your documents.
The Berkshire Hathaway ExactCare plan was one of the most competitively priced policies for your trip while still offering the Pre-Existing Condition Waiver, a Primary Medical Limit of 50,000 USD and an Emergency Medical Evacuation Limit of 1,000,000 USD.
Premiums for comprehensive policies are based largely on the length of the trip, the ages of the travelers, and the cost of the trip. Although a travel insurance policy is considered to be of good value when the policy premium is within 10% of the insured trip cost, that ratio is usually based on a trip that is no more than 30 days. Since your trip was approximately 93 days long, this increased your pricing.
InsureMyTrip is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and our customer care representatives are licensed insurance agents who are able to recommend the most cost effective plans which will cover the travelers primary concerns. If you would like to receive assistance in obtaining a quote or purchasing a policy, please call us at 800-487-4722 as we would be happy to assist you.
I didn't have to use it. Which is good, I guess. But, I can't fairly comment on how good the service might have been if things went awry - which is the way of most insurance or warranty reviews - the proof is always in the collapsed pudding rather than the uneventful journey.

Although a little pricey, I went with a 390.00 plan with plenty of emergency coverage. Nothing was needed, but good to know the plan was there in case. I was traveling in India with excursions to remote parts of the Himalayas...riding on horses and trekking. So, glad I had the insurance and very grateful for an amazing and safe trip!

I was hospitalized for a covered illness, filed a claim and received reimbursement for all covered expenses. I filed all required documents in a timely fashion, however, reimbursement took approximately 10 weeks. Agents were very apologetic for the long delay and explained they had a lot of claims to process. I called every 2 weeks to obtain updates regarding my reimbursement and every time I called, I was on hold for at least 15 minutes.

I was offered an opportunity to purchase trip insurance when I bought a trip through a travel website to India and Nepal, but it was significantly more expensive than TravelSafe. I declined their insurance and purchased TravelSafe instead after doing some research and checking their reviews. Luckily, I did not need to use my insurance, but it was comforting to know it was there. When I first arrived in India, there was a rough patch when the Visa officials said my paperwork was incorrect and they were not going to let me into India, saying I needed to go back to my own country. I eventually worked that out, but it was comforting to know that I had travel insurance to turn to if needed.
