Age should not be the only criteria for establishing cost. At 70 and 76, we are healthier than many 40-50 year olds. Perhaps a better approach could be considered. A health questionnaire filled out by our doctor or??

Fortunately I never had the need to file a claim. Therefore I cannot attest to the customer experience related to claim filing and reimbursement. However, the process of buying the coverage was convenient and simple. The plan we purchased covered our basic needs.

I thought the plan was good but when I found out that I paid almost $90 for a 10 day trip and my bag got lost on the way back, I called and they told me that delayed baggage coverage was only for the way there which I obviously didn't know before. The customer service rep for AXA wasn't very friendly about it either. Luckily my bag turned up and I didn't need to make a claim. But I already paid for another policy for AXA for my next trip in October (previously paid for) so I probably won't use that company next year when I travel or I will read the fine print and pay less!

We do suggest reviewing the policy certificate, before and after you purchase a policy, to ensure you know what your policy does and does not cover. There are plans available that do offer baggage coverage to and from your destination, but as you know not all do.
