Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
On our flight home our bags were delayed for 39 hours I filed a claim with AXA after reading through our plan and was told we would received a benefit up to $100 a day. In the paperwork for the Gold coverage I received for my trip, it does not explicitly state that coverage for a delayed bag is based upon incurred expenses. Not only is the wording in the policy misleading but so is the claim form and the representatives are uninformed. So if your bags are ever delayed for 39 long and inconvenient hours, make sure to go out and buy some things so you can get this benefit. We deiced to make the worst out of a bad situation and instead of heading upstate since we had no sneakers or bathing suits, we waited out the arrival of our luggage and decided to put our visit off a couple of days. We would have been better off buying new sneakers and bathing suits because our claim would have been approved. Apparently being flexible enough to change our plans but highly inconvenienced is not the right thing to do. In the past, we have used another company for our travel insurance so we will be going back to them since it is evident AXA interrupts their benefits so they don’t have to pay their customers when a problem exists.
The wording in the document is as follows:
BAGGAGE DELAY / BAGGAGE DELIVERY
We will pay You, up to the maximum shown on the Schedule of Benefits, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than 24 hours, while on a Covered Trip.
If Your Checked Baggage is delayed after You have reached Your destination and the Common Carrier makes a charge for delivery, We will pay the reasonable cost up to the Baggage Delivery Maximum Benefit shown on the Schedule of Benefits to deliver Your Checked Baggage to Your Destination. A copy of the delivery invoice and verification of the delay or misdirection by the Common Carrier must be submitted with the claim.
You must be a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier. All claims must be verified by the Common Carrier who must certify the delay or misdirection and receipts for the purchase or replacement of necessary personal effects must accompany any claim.

My wife and I have traveled with another couple for the last 15 -20 years. We get along great and in my wife's case know each other since childhood. Anyway, not to prolong the story, we had planned our vacation this year for Hawaii - several days on Honolulu and then a cruise around the other islands. A week or so before the trip the spouse of our travel companions had some bad results to medical tests she took and as it turns out needed open heart surgery. As a result of this we certainly did not want to travel while she was undergoing this procedure. After submitting all of our documentation to Nationwide, within less then two weeks and without any questions beyond the documentation we submitted, we received a check in full for our entire trip. That is service personified.
PS: Most important, our friend's wife had the surgery yesterday and is doing well. That is the best news!

Thankfully we did not have to use our trip insurance! But, as soon as I booked the coverage, I felt at peace because their coverage is so inclusive! We had a wonderful trip and I did not worry about any mishaps. This peace is definitely worth the cost, which is low anyway!

The worse! took 4 months to find out that my claim was denied because my trip was cancelled 48 hrs prior and April insurance needs 72 hours to make the claim payable.

Thank you for your review. We agree -- it is always nice to have that peace of mind. Hopefully we can be your peace of mind again soon. Regards, The RoamRight Team
I have never needed to get insurance before but when confronted with taking my granddaughter to Hawaii for a week she needed insurance and I found it less of a problem getting it than I thought. In fact I was blown away at how easy the process was and how affordable it was. Thanks again to insuremytrip and Global Alert.

Traveling with families can be risky. You never know when one of you might get sick. I always get travel insurance to cover our airline tickets and most important our rental house. You might be able to change your tickets but not usually rental houses.

My wife had an emergency medical condition requiring surgery arise just before we were going to take our trip. I filed the claim with CSA and everything was processed quickly and without issue.
