A major work issue caused me to have to cancel my trip just two weeks before I was to leave. I had added "cancel for work reasons" when I booked my trip and bought the travel insurance. I filled in the forms provided, provided the documentation requested, and was issued a check for the full value of the trip within just a couple of weeks. I was very pleasantly surprised that there was NO hassle. I plan to use this company again.

One of the things that I find distressing is if you have a medical problem which delays your trip, the additional expenses incurred are not covered such as hotel, food, transportation costs, which, over 4 days or so can add up. I realize that we purchased the policy for a specific amount of time, but when that time is extended due to factors out of our control, the policy should cover some of those costs. I will be certain to ask more questions of Nationwide before I purchase their policy again.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Unfortunately, the Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential plan does not cover travel delay due to an illness or injury. In addition, the policy certificate does not list an illness or injury as a reason for an extension of coverage. We offer comprehensive plans from different insurance providers that do cover travel delay due to illness or injury, and extend coverage up to 7 days due to an unavoidable circumstance. Thankfully we didn't have to use the policy but just having it gave us peace of mind on our trip. The representative we spoke to helped us find the exact policy we were looking for at the best price! We had never purchased trip insurance before but I'm sure we will for future trips.

On my most recent trip, I fell and ruptured by left quad tendon. CSA and its subsidiary were immensely helpful arranging for me to get back to the United States for surgery, including arranging for me to fly back business class, arranging for transportation to the airport in Iceland and transportation from the JFK terminal to where my car was parked. It was an impressive performance.
CSA also promptly settled my claim for reimbursement for the cost of the trip.

We had to cancel a $17K trip for medical reasons. InsureMyTrip and Travel Insured did exactly what was needed, did it promptly and with NO HASSLE to us or our doctors. Very Satisfied.
