I’m really don’t know how good the plan is since I was lucky enough not to have to use it however the coverage I bought I was very happy with and until you file a claim you really don’t know what kind of service to plan gives

I purchase insurance on all my trips, but in the past I have only had a few small claims. All which were handled nicely.
30 days before my trip to Israel I fell and broke my ankle in 2 places. It was awful cancelling the trip.
But after filing out the required forms I received a full refund check within a month. The trip cost which was refunded more than paid for the insurance costs of my trips over the past 5 years.
It was easy and fast.

Insurance is a complicated topic. It would be helpful if explanation of benefits was complete but simplified. For example, what pre-existing medical conditions are not covered in the policy selected.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, AIG Travel Guard does
offer you a detailed definition of the waiver in the quote. Just click on View Certificate at the top of the quote or the Preexisting Period of 180 days, which was in blue print, within the quote for the complete Preexisting Condition Exclusion.
Here is the definition of Preexisting Medical Conditions on your AIG Gold plan:
"(o) PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITION EXCLUSION: The
Company will not pay for any loss or expense incurred as the result of an Injury, Sickness or other condition of an Insured, Traveling Companion, Business Partner or Family Member which, within the 180 day period immediately preceding and including the Insured’s coverage effective date: (a) first manifested itself, worsened, became acute or had symptoms which would have prompted a reasonable person to seek diagnosis, care or treatment; (b) for which care or treatment was given or recommended by a Physician; (c) required taking prescription drugs or medicines, unless the condition for which the drugs or medicines are taken remains controlled without any change in the required prescription drugs or medicines."
Please always remember that we are available weekdays from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM ET and weekends from 7:00 AM to midnight ET if you wish to call us for assistance in purchasing a policy.

I guess the best thing about insurance is when you don't have to use it, so hard to tell how well it worked. It's like the airbag in my car; hope you never have to see if it works.
