We did not need to use the plan but had to last year. I had a serious injury and it was comforting to know that both insure my trip folks and AXA were there when it was needed. I insure all our trips with AXA through Insure my trip.

We did not need to use any of the travel insurance benefits we purchased for our trip. But having the coverage in place provided us with an extra degree of piece of mind for traveling on an extended trip to a foreign country.

The cancel for any reason rider is NOT for any reason. It does not include any emergencies that may happen in the 48 hours before you leave on your trip. This is ridiculous and idiotic.
I do not recommend this company, nor do I think that travel insurance is a very good investment for many of us who do not book all-inclusive trips.

According to the terms and conditions of your plan, in order to use Cancel for Any Reason, you must cancel Your Trip 48 hours or more before Your Scheduled Departure Date. Unfortunately, we do not have any plans that will allow you to cancel your trip for any reason on the day of departure. If you have any questions or concerns please call us at 800-487-4722.
Fortunately, we didn't have a need to make a claim. I did a lot of research online before we purchased, and I called and spoke to an agent twice to ask various questions because I wanted to make sure I really understood the coverage. The online information was easy to use, and the customer service was excellent, informative, and friendly. I would definitely purchase this again for trips in the future.

I purchased 6 months of insurance and was forced to return from Germany after three months. I called and tried to get at least a partial refund or a pause in service. AIG did nothing to work with me. Told me I was out of luck. I travel often to Europe and in fact returning there next month for another 3 months, with the possibility of long if a language visa is granted. Because your company gave zero effort in helping me, not only will I not use your service again, but I will be encouraging all my friends and family who travel with me to not use your service. A customer service rep may contact me if a desire to rectify the situation is the aim, otherwise, don't bother.
