Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
Good coverage and much more affordable than the plan offered by the travel company. Better coverage for less money makes it a great value. And being able to select the limits which fit our needs made it even better.

they include coverage for terrorist attacks only at locations on itinerary. Has to be determined to be terrorists to be covered. Does not seem to cover local uprisings.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Your interpretation of terrorism coverage is correct, and we would like to share this knowledge with fellow customers.
In order to be eligible for coverage against terrorist incidents, the event must occur within a city listed on your trip itinerary or within a 50-100 mile radius of the city, occur within a specified amount of time prior to the scheduled departure date (7-30 days) for Trip Cancellation coverage, and fit the plan's definition of a terrorist incident.
There are two basic ways that travel insurance companies define covered terrorist incidents:
1) An incident deemed a terrorist attack by the United States government.
2) An act of violence, other than civil disorder or riot, (that is not an act of war, declared or undeclared) that results in loss of life or major damage to property, by any person acting on behalf of or in connection with any organization which is generally recognized as having the intent to overthrow or influence the control of any government.
Please keep in mind the information included in this response is a general rule of thumb. The wording of terrorism coverage can vary slightly or significantly from plan to plan. Please read the terms and conditions of the policy you are interested in, and call us for assistance at 800-487-4722.
Unable to travel because of illness. Had booked a number of flights on different airlines, mostly non-refundable and it took considerable time and effort to gather all documentation to file a claim. Only claimed expenses we believed were covered, lost another $1,000 in unclaimed expenses. Once filed, it took more time than expected to receive a refund, but overall the experience with April was okay.
