C&F Travel Insured InternationalWorldwide Trip Protector Lite
Very competitive price with choices for coverage as compared with travel companies who set prices at 10% of full cost of travel. I have used C&F many times.

Fortunately I did not have to use the policy, but I was satisfied with the items that were covered should it be needed. The cost was a good value for what was included.

We were fortunate to not having had a need to use the medical coverage. Nonetheless, it was reassuring to know that we were covered for the essential items and events we wanted covered. The coverage was good value for the money compared with other plans we had looked at.

No claim so no real contact with insurer this time. I had filed a claim on a prior trip and it was handled promptly and paid in full with no hassles so I think it's a good carrier.

One of the participants in our group fell face forward while walking to one of our destinations. She was seen at a walk-in clinic and fortunately no major injuries were found. Although her facial injuries were evident and she was "shaken up" for a couple of days, she decided to continue with the trip. However, that experience brought home the need to have insurance.

Thank you for your 5 star review for the Generali Preferred plan. Many of our customers tell us that witnessing a sickness or injury during a trip reminds them that there is a real need for travel insurance.
Please keep in mind that if you did have an emergency, you would have called Generali as soon as reasonably possible! Your policy includes claims and 24-hour assistance phone numbers for both inside and outside of the United States, ensuring that you can get in touch with Generali at any time. Of course, if you're in a dire medical emergency you would want to seek care immediately and worry about contacting Generali once you're stable.
However, you will need to know what documentation will be most important for you to secure before returning home. We cannot stress enough that you should save your receipts and proof of expenses so that you can be accurately reimbursed, whether it be costs due to a delay of travel for hotel or meal, or medical records for emergency treatment received. This is especially important for medical care received overseas, since it can be incredibly difficult to get this paperwork once you have returned home.
Five star!! Due to pain and an unplanned back surgery, had to cancel our trip. Got a partial refund from the company, Grand Circle, because of timing of cancellation, and the remainder was fully reimbursed by the insurance company Global Alert (Preferred). Cost was among 3 lowest fora coverage needed. STRONGLY RECOMMEND talking to knowledgeable InsureMyTrip employees before purchasing any policy; they have knowledge & background to discuss primary vs. secondary coverage (you don't want to be bounced back & forth between your medical insurance co. and trip insurance co., for example!), etc. Claim processing is provided by a 3rd party and, for the record, Broadspire who did ours was accurate, responsive (talked to rep), forward-looking re issues. But the insurance company forms are not always clear, & it's definitely worth a call to company BEFORE you claim to help choose reasonable alternatives (e.g.: form required "hospital bill" as "proof of stay." However, you can only get this after 6-8 weeks: ask any hospital. Instead, used "hospital discharge papers" copy.). Overall, five stars and we will use again.
