Comprehensive plans offer the most benefits, including Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans provide the best protection for the investment you have made in your trip.
We made a claim because our flight going home after our cruise out of Ft Lauderdale was cancelled due to a snow storm, and ended up having to stay the night. We sent in our claim and did not hear from the insurance company for a month. We contacted the company and resubmitted our claim. Again no response. Finally on our third try they responded that they are processing our claim, this after 3 months. The company does not communicate at all, it is like a big black hole. We received our claim finally and it did not cover the items they claim they cover. Also, they don't explain why our costs were not covered just sent a check and that is that. I would have been better off not purchasing the insurance. It was not worth my time to purchase and was not worth the time to send in the claim. Beware, it does not cover much of anything. When you read it it appears to, but it does not. I definitely do not recommend this insurance, unless you feel you want to make a charitable donation to Nationwide! Save your money.

Upon receiving your review, we immediately assigned an InsureMyTrip "Anytime Advocate" who contacted the Nationwide. According to their records, you filed your claim on 03/27/2018. On behalf of Nationwide, you were later contacted by Co-ordinated Benefit Plans, LLC with a voice mail on 04/18/2018 asking for additional information, by email on 04/24/2018, and again on 05/8/2018 by email advising that your payment was being processed. You have now received your check.
Coverage would have been reimbursed under Trip Delay up to 100 USD per day/500 USD maximum per person:
"The Company will reimburse You for Covered Expenses on a one-time basis, up to the Maximum Benefit shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if You are delayed, while coverage is in effect, en route to or from the Trip for six (6) or more
hours due to a defined Hazard.
Covered Expenses:
(a) Any Additional Expenses incurred;
(b) A one-way Economy Fare to return You to Your originally scheduled return destination."

We were not contacted at all by Nationwide, not by phone, not by email. We submitted all the documentation 3 times with no response until the 3rd submittal, then the response that our claim was being processed, that was the only communication. The insurance is unresponsive and a waste of money.
This was my 3rd plan with April. Thank heaven I did not need to use them this time. Everything went very smoothly. Howerver, we did have an interruption on my previous trip and April came through with a complete refund. They were very helpful and reassuring while in a hospital in a foreign country hospital
I felt so insured for this last trip because of my previous need. They came through in every way. thank you April.

Thankfully, did not have to make any claim, but the security of knowing that everything is adequately covered allows for complete enjoyment of the trip, from start to finish. This is the 2nd time we have booked a policy with you and we just booked a 3rd for a future trip.

We believe this plan was appropriate for the price. We were fortunate enough not to have a need to use the coverage but it matched many of the other plans we looked at. This is a great basic plan if you are looking for minimum coverage at an affordable price.

This is the second time I have used Insure My Trip; since I have not had to file a claim I am unable to rate the policies I have purchased, however, I do like the convenience of a one-stop site to review policies and select the level of coverage I need; I have recommended this site to friends for that reason and will continue to use this site until I have a reason not to.

We lost our home in the California wildfires and the many loops they put us through to try and create paperwork we did not still have as it was burnt in the fire was so very distressing to us. There was little to none empathy from the company. They made us feel that we were not being truthful with them. Will never use Travelex again and will be passing the poor service that we received to all our friends and family.

Please keep in mind that insurance is highly regulated. In order to validate coverage, completed claim forms and documentation are an important part of the claim process as it relates to the specific conditions, as listed in the plan purchased. Once all documentation was received, the Claim Representative promptly assessed the claim and payment was released on November 20, 2017 (within 6 days). We have confirmed that both checks were cashed in December 2017.

I did not get to use the coverage, however, I was very satisfied with the coverage and pricing especially regarding recreational scuba diving. Contacting them by phone was also very easy and friendly as well as professional to clarify coverage for recreational diving. As mentioned I did not have a claim so I can not comment on how well a claim might be handled.

Of course, the real test of a plan is when the traveler needs to file a claim. Since I didn't have to do that (although I got sick for four days during the trip, due to water problems in a town my tour went to), I have no real idea whether CSA is a good insurance company or not.
